Peter Kauffman is an indie rock singer, songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist from Toronto, Ontario. Peter has been writing and performing for over 7 years, and released his debut album,
Countdown to Philippines, in 2010. Peter's sophomore album,
By Dint of Heroic Struggle, is due in 2012. Peter frequents The Central and The Tranzac, and has played many other venues in assorted contexts.
Born in Scarborough, Ontario in 1970, Peter took up piano at age 6 and progressed to the Grade 10 level at the Royal Conservatory of Music. From there Peter went to study Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto, graduating with a Bachelor of Music in 1995. Peter is an avid jazz enthusiast and plays jazz piano whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Peter also teaches piano part time at The Merriam Music School in Oakville Ontario.
