How was it started?
In 2007, Jason LaFace/LaFauci(CEO) was signed on to 2 record labels which severely lacked in communication and other areas that could make a label successful. For 14 months, Jason researched almost every independent and major label in the dance market and began focussing on Omerta Records to be a new player in the current Electronic Dance Music Market and how it could apply and maintain a new ethic amongst artists as a whole. In early 2008, Omerta Records officially opened its doors in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada and signed 25 artists. Since then Omerta has managed to create 5 promotional pools for itself. Zip DJ, MyPromoPool, Elite Promo and Release Promo and Omerta's in house pool. These pools are necessary for pre-release, airplay and extra exposure.
2009, Jason teamed up with Thomas DeColita to bring Omerta's presence to the forefront and improve in quality of releases aswell maintaining Omerta's reputation in developping new artists. Jason and Thomas are two individuals who share the same dreams, ambitions and desires to maintain a growing label with strong business ethics.
What is Omerta's Short Term and Long Term Goals?
On the short term, Omerta's primary focus is to expand on the market and give the same equal exposure that many big names currently have. With that said, Omerta also works with various labels and radio outlets which have began to chart our artists.
Omerta's long term goals focus more on being a open outlet for artists on any scale of skills. To open up a new management team for artists to get more work with live performances and be on major lineups. To include with our long term goal is the ever so need of change within our industry, we hope to accomplish this.
